Our last gig of 2023 is of course our Christmas party gig, and it takes place once again in our favourite Peterborough pub, The Ostrich Inn, which is right in the center of town.
Bands, beers, friends and fun – the Scary Clown way – FREE ENTRY TOO! Just turn up on the night, but as it’s the last Friday before Xmas, we’d suggest you arrive EARLY!
LINE-UP:
SPOILERS – Kent’s finest and tightest (and they would say, best looking) melodic punks come back once again to play one of our shows. Always a joy to host em.
SHACKLEFORD – it took us too long to bring these lot to one of our gigs, and since then we’ve been trying to find another excuse. Melodic punk with harmonies, just what the dr ordered!
THE ATOMS – talking about tight fast songs, The Atoms are another of our mainstay bands, well Joe is, his line-ups change more frequently than our underwear 😉
PLOT 32 – coming down from Leeds, Plot 32 bring the party with em – drunken ska-punk with songs about murderous butchers and drinking. What’s not to like?
It’s not often we get the chance to put on touring bands from outside the UK, but when we get an offer, we try and bring the best of the punk scene to out punters. As our mate Paul says; “Svetlanas are the best live punk band around at the moment. Bar none.” So you better think about getting some tickets yeah?
Svetlanas are a Russian thrashcore and punk rock band formed in Moscow, Russia and based in Milan
We are mixing it up as always for this gig – bringing back local (ish) long time scene vets Project Mork – who went down an absolute storm the last time they played for us. No gig is complete without some grapple punk yeah? Los Fatso Libres bring the mexican wrestling punk action to the show, and young dark metal punx Approach with Caution open the show – they really impressed us when they played for us at the Ostrich Inn, so we reckon they need to play the best independent venue in the UK – Mama Lizs!
Get your tickets for this rate intimate Svetlanas gig here in our ticket shop – and we’ll see you down the front!
Just a quick note to say our BC BC and Wonk Unit double headliner show is SOLD OUT and has been for some time now. It’s the 3rd (4th?) date – and this time all looks good for the show to happen!
See you in Stamford at Mama Liz’s Voodoo Lounge on May 18th – doors 7pm for a 7.30pm start!
We are pleased to announce our huge DIY Punk all dayer – Skate-aid 9 – our huge fundraising gig for the small skate-boarding for kids charity.
2023 sees us bring another 13 bands/acts to Mama Lizs Voodoo Lounge in Stamford – with music from 1pm in the afternoon until 10:30pm.
Coming for the very first time to one of our gigs is the brilliant grime-punk kings Riskee and the Ridicule – we’ve seen them several times at other shows, and Krispy has chatted with them over a beer. Finally we’ve tied them down to a date. There’s a ton of other great bands coming too – and some special acoustic acts for the afternoon. We will be cooking our usual vegan BBQ treats during the afternoon.
It’s a kids friendly event – especially the ‘free’ afternoon part. Tix needed for the downstairs full band sessions.
Smashing the UK independent charts with an entry at 23 is Grade 2 with their self titled new album.
And they are coming to Mama Liz’s Voodoo Lounge in Stamford on Sunday 5th March! They are a young band bringing a new edge to an old-school punk sound – and their songs are as catchy as feck!
Touring with them are London’s hardcore outfit Clobber – and we’ve thrown Kings of Pigs into the ring to make it a three-band Sunday evening special!
Tickets are flying – just 20 ish left as of Thurs 2nd March – get yours here – otherwise it’s £15 on the door – limited numbers left though!
Our six band DIY Punk vegan BBQ gig is back – and in 2023 it’s in support of Camp Beagle – up the animal rights punks!
UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who came along – we raised £386.50 for Camp Beagle – selling out of the food and charity ale!
It’s on Saturday, April 15th, kicking off at 2pm. It’s a half-dayer format Punk Gig with our BBQ from 2, with a specially brewed one-off craft beer from 2pm till end of BBQ or it runs out.
Then the bands all play from 5.30pm down in the brilliant Voodoo Lounge. Come hang out, get fed, get boozy, and meet the stars.
All profit from BBQ and beer to Camp Beagle. We are hoping to have a representative from Camp Beagle coming along to speak about their work.
While we spend most of our collective spare time organising and running our DIY Punk gigs, we also sometimes manage to squeeze in some time on something even more ambitious. Over three years ago now we released our first ever record as Scary Clown Records, and we’re now proud to say SCP0002 is released; DEADITES II by The Deadites.
The album was nearing completion just as the pandemic hit, which scuppered planned meetings with the band – so everything went on hold for a bit until we realised the lockdowns weren’t going to ease up for some time.
So somehow we managed to produce a slab of vinyl for the band without physically meeting up! We should be taking delivery of the physical copies next week. The band has produced their own insert, with photos and song lyrics. We’ve been big fans of the Deadites for MANY years – their songs are heartfelt and uplifting – and have the unique laid-back yet energetic sound that defines the Deadites for us.
Probably the most under-rated bands in the DIY scene – they have played MPF and more SCP gigs than any other band (probably on par with Wonk Unit), and while few have probably heard of them outside the local area, touring bands who play with them are always blown away. It’s time we helped our first label’s band get out there and heard. They are the loveliest chaps – they’d probably play for chips*, they just love playing their music in front of good people.
You can order your copy in our shop (£12 plus postage), or try and get to a gig and by in person – The Deadites will be playing our big Skate-aid 8 all-dayer.
*they probably would like me to clarify chips & cash!
Here’s a couple of tracks from the album to sample…

Well the last two years have been a bit different, haven’t they? The good news is we’ve had some fantastic (sold out) gigs in 2021 once venues opened up again. You like us and the bands were very ready for some live music and fun.
Our Xmas party gig with Bar Stool Preachers and Grand Collapse is sold out a week before it happens, which has never happened for a gig mid-December for us before.
Thanks to everyone who supports us and comes to the shows, our following seems to have grown to the point we can really fill up Mama Lizs with great people (and Tucker).
We’re already planning shows for 2022 – including our half-dayer Punk Rock BBQ, and of course our biggest charity fundraiser of the year, Skate-Aid 8. Bands are being booked up as I type. Check out our tickets page for what we have on – we already have the Diaz Brothers coming to Mama Lizs, and a free entry show at the Ostrich Inn penned in.
We’ve had some amazing nights recently – lets keep that party feeling and positivity going!
Cheers, Krispy and the Scary Clown Presents… posse!
